Obituary

Lois Louise (Taggart) DeGraaf, born on December 26, 1937, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023. She was the loving wife of Lawrence (Mike) DeGraaf for almost 67 years; loving mother of Michelle (Duane) Gritter, Mike (Tiffany) DeGraaf, Pam (Sue) DeGraaf, Tammy (Chippy) Adams; grandchildren, Sean Yarrington, Charlie (Kristina) Adams. Lois was devoted to her husband and family and would have done anything for them. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Ione Taggart; son-in-law, Bo Adams; brothers, George and James Taggart. Lois graduated from Berlin High School in Marne, MI in 1956, where she was a majorette and cheerleader. She was very proud of being from Marne, and always looked forward to the Berlin High School reunion. Lois started working at Michigan National Bank in downtown Grand Rapids. She worked as a teller at the bank in Marne. She was the Executive Assistant for LV Eberhard. Lois worked in accounts payable at Behr Industries before retiring. She was a member of Marne United Methodist Church. Lois loved to bowl on leagues at Lincoln and Westgate, and visiting the casinos now and then. She liked taking bus trips with her friends and most of all getting in the car and taking rides and trips with her family. Lois was a very loving, caring person and would always do her best to help her friends and family. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2:00 pm at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Ave NW, Comstock Park, MI. Friends and relatives may visit with the family on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 pm, and from 1:00-2:00 pm on Friday before the funeral service. Interment in Rosedale Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The ALS Association at donate.als.org or Westside Christian School, 955 Westend Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. Service Details.
