Obituary

Lorraine Anton, of Comstock Park, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on July 1, 2026.

Lorraine was married to the love of her life, Anthony "Tony" Anton, and celebrated 54 years of adventures together.

Lorraine and Tony, or Lor and Tone as they called each other, were forever in love and incredibly close. They enjoyed being outdoors together, hunting for deer, going for neighborhood walks, and bike riding. As a young family, they made warm, fun memories camping, road-tripping across the U.S. and to Mexico, and enjoyed a vacation to Hawaii.

Lorraine was known by her wide group of friends and close family as an active, energetic, young at heart and feisty person who made a point of rooting for the underdog. Over the years she lived in Delaware and Minnesota, and she adopted Chicago as her second home, loving every visit to the big and exciting city. She and Tony traveled to England, and Lorraine later visited Scotland with her daughter and a close family friend.

Those who knew Lorraine best will remember her honesty, generosity, warmth, laughter, and her engaging personality. She was an excellent writer with exquisite handwriting who sent beautiful letters and cards. She kept an impeccable home appointed with photos from her lifetime of memories.

A graduate of Union High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Lorraine worked as a banquet server for years at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel and the Prince Conference Center, among other catering venues. A dedicated worker, she was most proud of her role as a mother and the success of her children.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Mike (Colleen) Anton and Pam (Curt Thorin) Anton; stepdaughter, Deborah (Darrell) Anton Traeger; sister-in-law, Denise; brother-in-law, Chris (Pat); and close family friends Amy Greever and Deseray Snobeck, who were like second daughters.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Tony, and her brother, Andy.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private memorial service is pending.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Valley View Care Center and to the nurses and hospice staff of Corewell Health, Butterworth.
