KEARNEY - Marie Johanna Kearney, age 89, of Belmont, passed away on March 21, 2017. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, John Kearney; her children, Richard (Patti) Kearney of White Cloud, Patrick (Lori) Kearney of Durango, Colorado, and Karen (Ron) Barnhart of Sparta; grandchildren, Melissa Hamilton, Jason Kearney, Jill Deyoung, Megan Funk, Sean Kearney, Jamie Newberg, and Trent Barnhart as well as eleven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Ryan Kearney. Marie was a loving and talented wife, mother and grandmother. Marie was noted for her fine needlework as well as other crafts. During her life, she was active in Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and with Special Olympics. Marie's life will be celebrated at the family cabin in the Upper Peninsula, a place she called "Paradise", later this summer. Special thanks go to the caregivers at Clark on Keller Lake and Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods for their loving and gentle care.
