WELLS - Marilyn S. "Mert" Wells (Collins), age 81, of Sparta, went to be in the arms of Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Helen Imogene Collins. She is survived by her loving children, Marty (Jody) Wells, Sheree (Paul) Wells, and Tammy (Jeff) Vandeweg; grandchildren, Andrea Horter, Kristen Horter, Kaitlyn (Dalton) Horter, Evan Barnhardt, Kaytlynne Kerwin, Rylan (Sydney) Kerwin, Austin Kerwin, Mattie Kerwin, Ashleigh Braunschneider, Megan Nietering, Garritt Vandeweg, and Rebekah Vandeweg; great-grandchildren, siblings, Judy (Dan) Carlson, Jim (Jean) Collins, and Tom Collins; several nieces and nephews. Marilyn was the clerk for the City of Walker for many years. She was a life-long member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Marilyn was known by her grandchildren as their beloved "gma" who loved attending their various sporting events. The family will receive family and friends at Kent City Baptist Church, 400 W. Muskegon Street, Kent City, on Monday, June 28, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with the Service of Praise and Thanksgiving at 11:00 a.m. In memory of Marilyn, please consider contributions for the family expenses.
