Marjorie Marie Bell passed away January 24, 2023, at Valley View Care Center at the age of 99. She was the daughter of Ralph and Mabel Hively. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and sister Margaret. Growing up the family spent many summers camping on Green Lake near Interlochen. Margie was the happiest when she was outside hunting or fishing with her dad or having fun with her friends. Growing up she also liked to read. Her favorite book was One Hundred Poems for Boys and Girls. She had most all the poems memorized. Of the poems Animal Crackers being the one she liked the most. You were very honored if you heard her recite one. They were never requested she would just all of a sudden start reciting. In 1961 she married Raymond Bell, he preceded her in death. She moved from Traverse City to Rockford. They both worked at Corduroy Rubber Company. They both retired in 1973 and moved to Grant, where Raymond had a cabin in the woods. After Raymond passed Margie wanted a safer location. She had a tour of Harvest Way, where her niece Donna Crispen lived. She immediately fell in love and put her name on the waiting list. She enjoyed her time at Harvest Way. Made many new friends and kept very busy with all the activities and outings they provided. Her hobbies were crocheting and knitting, making many lap blankets for the GA center in Grand Rapids. Around the age of 86 she found she could no longer do the knitting and crocheting, s she went to diamond art.
