Marjorie Ann Stimson (Marolf), age 91, of Belmont, Michigan, formerly of Davenport, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2026. She was born April 28, 1935, in Hopkinton, Iowa, to the late Marion and Emily (Orr) Marolf. Margie graduated from Buck Creek High School in Iowa with the class of 1953. She married the love of her life, Darrell Stimson on December 22, 1955, at First Presbyterian Church in Marion, Iowa.

Margie's life was a testament to perseverance and dedication, both in her professional and personal endeavors. Her career in banking and as an administrative secretary at Springville Schools, Linwood Stone in Davenport, and later with Kelley Services showcased her commitment to excellence and her natural ability to connect with people.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell; son, Gregory Stimson; infant grandson, Ryan Stimson; parents, Marion and Emily; brother, Bruce Marolf; and sister, Jeanne (Marolf) Fleming.

Her legacy of love continues through her daughters, Emily Jane (Jonathan Stein) Marolf and Kathleen (Russell) Horak; son Gene (Linda) Stimson; grandchildren: Seidyl, Seth, Matthew, Nicholas, Kiley, Sarah, Nicole, Michelle, Jaimie, and Jared; and many great-grandchildren who brought her immeasurable joy. After moving to Michigan a decade ago, Margie had the privilege to be close to greats - Ethan, Payton, Isabella, Madelyn, and Gabriella. She is also survived by her sister, Maxine Heath; her loving niece, Dana (Bob) Marolf; and nephew, Bryce (Colleen) Marolf.

Margie's life was rich with the joys of simple pleasures. She possessed a green thumb, and her garden was a testament to her nurturing spirit. She found joy in crocheting and canning, creating warmth and sustenance for those she loved. A passionate fan of the University of Iowa Hawkeyes Girls Basketball, Margie's enthusiasm was infectious, and her kind smile was a beacon of warmth to all who encountered her.

Margie was a committed Christian and served in many churches throughout her years. Most recently she was a member of Algoma Baptist Church. Her commitment to community was evident through her active membership in the American Legion in Bluegrass, Iowa. Margie’s presence was a source of strength and encouragement, and her contributions will be remembered fondly.

Margie’s greatest adventure took place when she was 90! In July 2025, she flew to Frankfurt, Germany and began a five-country adventure to France, Lichtenstein, Switzerland (her paternal homeland) and Austria — where she was surprised by a Sound of Music tour.

Margie will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love, strength, and kindness will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace with the angels and saints in the presence of our Lord. Memory Eternal

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Emmanuel Hospice for their help and loving care for Margie throughout these past couple months.

Per Margie's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Margie desired to support young people training for the ministry, so in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Deacon Andrew Palczewski Seminary Fund.
