Obituary

SPANOGLE - Mark (Gordon) Phillip Spanogle, went to be with his Lord Wednesday, October 12, 2011. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Cela (Wilkinson) and Maurice Spanogle, brother, Doug Spanogle. He is survived by his children, Amy Myers of New Orleans, LA., Rebecca, Jiri and Sylvia Klapil of Key West, FL. Mark was born on August 16, 1934 he graduated from Creston High School in 1955, and was employed with Steelcase for 30 years. Mark was a 32nd degree Mason, and served in the National Guard. He was an avid outdoors-men, fisherman, trapper, and hunter. He was happiest being outdoors. Mark was a lifetime member of the Sparta Hunting and Fishing Club, the Michigan Steel-headers, and the NRA. He was a man of God and attended St. Andrews Episcopal Church for many years. The family would like to extend their thankfulness for the care and support provided by best friends, Rita (Nan) Franklin and the Morrens. Mark was able to spend the end of his life at home, with a view of the woods and the wildlife, on the land that he loved. His life ended just like much of it was lived, on his own terms, right where he wanted to be. Please call (616) 784-7287 in regards to a gathering on Sunday Ocotober 30, 2011.
