VANKOEVERING - Mark A. VanKoevering, age 64, of Comstock Park, entered his eternal life on Saturday, March 25, 2017. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, John and Fannie; his sisters and their spouses, Lois (Chuck) Aardema, Geraldine (Otto) Terpstra, Genevieve (Ken) Branderhorst; brothers, Bernerd VanKoevering and Phillip VanKoevering. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carol; daughters, Jamey (Ben) Bailey of Grand Rapids, and Lisa VanKoevering of Hudsonville; his precious grandsons, Harrison, Braylon, Drew and Henry; brothers, James (Patty) VanKoevering and David (Sharon) VanKoevering; sister-in-law, Sharon VanKoevering; brothers-in-law, Gary (Cheryl) DeGood and Abe (Sandy) VanderBoon; cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Mark was a faithful employee at Steelcase for 33 years. He had a passion for fishing, especially for steel head on the Muskegon River and in the Grand River downtown. Mark was also an avid deer hunter for many years, a very successful sportsman. He was a great dad and a very wonderful grandfather. After retirement Mark became very active in helping to care for all four grandsons, everything from helping with daycare to teaching them to fish, hunt, card games and taking them on many, many road trips, especially to "Charleys pond!" Mark had a friendly personality, always ready to help family and friends, using his many talents; he was loved by many and will be missed by all. His family would like to extend a thank you to Dr. Jean Thomas of Wege Family Medicine, Dr. Ken Krajewski, the nurses and staff at Lacks Cancer Center for all their compassionate and loving care. Also, his support team from Faith Hospice, who make it possible for Mark to stay at home surrounded by his loving family and friends, God Bless you all. The family will greet family and friends at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The celebration of Mark's life will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Beuschel Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, with Pastor Mike Meekhof, luncheon to follow at Plainfield Christian Church 7255 Pine Island Dr. NE, Comstock Park, 49321.
