ROBERTS - Marlene "Midge" Roberts, age 83, of Rockford, went peacefully to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 22, 2020. She is survived by her beloved children, Michael Roberts, Michele (Brian) Feringa, Jill (Jim) Wiers, Katie Miller, Bobby Roberts, Renee (Keith) Bainbridge, and Mary (David) Sawinski; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Sue Zolinski and Judy (Jerry) Sremba; brothers, Joe (Beth) Lemieux, Jack (Jean) Lemieux, and Bob (Linda) Lemieux; sister-in-law, Mary Lemieux; nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. Marlene is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Martin; her parents, Carl and Magdalen Lemieux; brother, David Lemieux; sister, Sarah Klochack; daughter, Helen Runyon; granddaughter, Alicia Wiers; and great-grandson, Jeffrey Weersma. Marlene was an operator for the phone company until she and Marty married. She became a devoted stay at home mom to her eight children and cared for all the children who happened to be in the house, including providing day care to other neighborhood families over the years. Marlene was a long time member of Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church. She enjoyed being outdoors with a passion for gardening. She was especially fond of Bob Seger, trips to the Casino, Bingo and "pork chops." The family wishes to thank the Faith Hospice caregivers, Andrea, Monica and Rob for their support and compassionate care. A private visitation will be held Sunday, April 26, 2020 at 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Beuschel Funeral Home 5018 Alpine Ave. Comstock Park.
