Obituary

PULSIFER - Martin "Bud" L. Pulsifer, age 89, of Sparta went to his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 3, 2015. Martin was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Beth, in December of 2014. Martin is survived by his loving daughter, Beth Ellen (Robert) Babbitt; granddaughter, Holli (Ken) Young; grandson, Brian (Kristen) Babbitt; great grandchildren, Brandon and Evan Young, Sydney and Isabelle Babbitt. He was a member of the Sparta Church of the Nazarene. Martin proudly served his country in the Navy during WWII. For over 40 years Martin was an active member of Gideons International. He was employed with Mattawan Consolidated School System as an Elementary Teacher and Sparta Area School District as a Shop Teacher. Martin was a Driver's Ed Teacher for multiple school districts as well as private companies for 42 years. He was a member of the Kent County Sheriff's Traffic and E Unit Squad, Sparta Village Council, Commander of Sparta American Legion Post #107, Grand "A" Model A Club, Sparta Township Historical Commission and was an Ordained Minister with the Free Methodist Church. The family will receive family and friends at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park on Friday, May 8 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A celebration of Martin's life will be on Saturday, May 9 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, at Sparta Church of the Nazarene, 665 13 Mile Road. A procession will be held to Fairplains Cemetery, Under the Auspice of Kent County Veterans Honor Guard at 12:15 p.m. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution, please consider the Gideons International in Martin's memory.
