FREUND, Mary Ellen "Cookie" Freund, age 68, of Algoma Township went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 7, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Kooiker, son, Tony Freund, grandchildren; Joshua, Nicholas, Lillian Kooiker, sister in-law Jo Marie Schulist of N.C., nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. Cookie loved the time spent with her Grandchildren and her involvement with social conservative political activities. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Family Church in Sparta at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, April 12, Rev. Msgr. Terrence Stewart as the celebrant. A private interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. The visitation will be held at the Beuschel Funeral Home 5018 Alpine Ave. Comstock Park, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil service at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
