PAEPKE - Mary S. Paepke RN (Polaskey), age 64, of Alpine Township, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 subsequent to a short illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Wanda Polaskey and special aunt Stefanie Bomberski. Mary is survived by her husband of nearly 38 years, J. Philip, sons, John R. Paepke, PE of Dearborn, Thomas P. Paepke, brother, Tom (Judy) Polaskey, of Lansing, sisters, Nancy Penny, Kathleen (Dave) May, Jayne (Dave) Skestone, mother in-law, Esther Paepke, sisters in-law, Priscilla Alberts, Mary (George) Janose, Paula (Michael) Leach, several aunts, uncles, cousins, many nieces and nephews, all of whom she dearly loved. Collectively, her sisters had a special bond and were considered world class garage saler's. Mary was a graduate of Grand Rapids Catholic Central and the former Borgess Hospital School of Nursing in Kalamazoo. She was employed in the Community Nursing Division of the Kent County Health Department for more than forty years. Mary had a lifelong interest in the healthy development of children. After retirement, she was employed part time by Welcome Home Baby, an agency devoted to early maternal support, and the detection of medical problems in newly born babies and their mothers. For many years she was a medical professional facilitating with the SIDS organization now known as Tomorrows Child, and a member of the Kent County Fetal Infant Death Review and the County Child Death Review, devoted to stopping preventable child mortality. The family will receive family and friends at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue N.W., Comstock Park, on Thursday, September 20, 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. with the vigil service at 7:30 p.m. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Rev.
