MOGG - Melvin L. Mogg, age 84, of Sparta, went to be with his Lord and Savior with his family at his side on Sunday, May 16, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Frances Mogg; siblings, Donna Townsend, and Ronald (Dolores) Mogg. Melvin is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lindy Mogg (Cavender); children, Dale (Denise) Mogg, Tracy (John Douglass) Mogg; grandchildren, Emma (Anthony Kihnke) Thompson, Amber (Ben) Wheaton, Elizabeth (Jimmy) Fillmore; great-grandchildren, Addison and Lucas Wheaton; siblings, Jane Kennedy, Stanley (Judy) Mogg, Leona (Ray) Murphy, Carl (Bea) Mogg, Glenn (Stephanie) Mogg, Evelyn (Terry) Burns, Doug (June) Mogg, Rose (Jim) Litke; several nieces and nephews. 2 Timothy 4:7 says, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." Melvin certainly fought the good fight and ran his race until the end. He was a retired Teamster who worked for Grand Rapids Building Services and for Reynolds Metals for many years. Melvin loved the outdoors and loved farming. He was an avid hunter, farmer, and golfer. The family will receive family and friends at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park, on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Melvin's Life will be celebrated at Beuschel Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour before, officiating Senior Pastor David Solomon of GracePointe Church.
