It is with deep sadness that the Cote family announces the passing of Michael James Cote, Jr., on Sunday, March 12, 2023. Mike was born on November 19, 1974 in Grand Rapids, MI, and raised in Comstock Park, MI. Mike earned a bachelor's degree in business from Western Michigan University's Haworth School of Business. Mike and his wife, Cristina, were married in 2013 and eventually settled in Ionia, MI. Mike loved working on their country home with his wife Cris, restoring the old buildings, playing with the kids, and planting food on his property for deer season. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Mike will always be remembered for his outgoing personality and charm, his fun-loving spirit, and his love for his family. He was always helping someone out, or receiving help in kind from family, neighbors, and treasured friends. He is survived by his dear wife Cristina (Hathaway) Cote, daughter Natalie (8) and son Jack (4), father Michael Sr., mother Barbara (Hansen) Cote, mother-in-law Barbara Storms, father-in-law Steve (Jenny) Hathaway, sisters Michele (Pamela Powell) Cote and Sara (Kenny) Farabaugh, and brother Jeff (Noreen Finn) Cote, many cherished nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, extended family and dear friends who loved him so much. Please join the family for a visitation Sunday, March 19 at Beuschel Funeral Home in Comstock Park from 2-4pm, with rosary beginning at 3:30pm. The funeral Mass will be at his home parish St. Patrick's in Portland, MI, on Monday, March 20 at 11:00am.
