MELLE - Michael W. Melle Sr., age 52, of Sparta, unexpectedly passed away on Monday, March 30, 2020. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert "Bob" Melle. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Leslie Melle; children, Corey Winkler, Ericka Teunis, Michael Melle (Ashley McCarty), and Kayle Teunis; mother, Marcia Curtis; mother-in-law, Joyce Winkler; grandchildren, Zander Melle, Conner Melle, Alexa Pardue, Kawai Johnson, and Kalaya Gaulds; siblings, Roberta Rowe, Dave (Robin) Tatroe, Sylvia (Bruce) Billings, Douglas (Becky) Melle, and Angie Johnson; brothers-in-law, Steve Winkler and Chuck Winkler; and sister-in-law, Tracie Winkler. Mike was a store manager at the Filling Station and Mr. Burger for 37 years. He was a graduate of the Sparta High School Class of 1985, and a member of the Harvest Bible Church. 'Papa' lived for his grandkids and his passion was golfing and teaching his grandson wrestling. A private service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2020.
