KOPP - Norman "Norm" Scott Kopp, age 66, of Rockford, unexpectedly went to his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 8, 2016. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Kopp; brother, Benny Kopp; grandson, Jordan Haner; and stepfather, Robert Jones. Norm is survived by his soulmate of 12 years, Karla Jones; mother, Norma Jones; daughter, Maria-Weeze (Robert) Smith; grandchildren, Grace and Cole Smith; significant children, Sandy-Twink (Mike) Streur, Michael-J. Bird Haner; significant grandchildren, Nicholas, Justin, Brenna Streur; Torie, Dylan, Spencer Haner; brothers, Terry (Sandy), Dan (Cyndy), Ted, Tom (Della); sister, Lisa Jones; several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Norm enjoyed spending his free time with his grandchildren; also enjoyed woodworking, traveling, gardening and Golden Glove Feather Weight Competition. He was employed at Delphi - General Motors and he was a member of the Local UAW 167 for 30 years. Norm proudly served his country in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart Metal; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal w/1*; Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device; Combat Action Ribbon and Rifle Marksman Badge for his service. He will be greatly missed by all. The family will receive family and friends at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park on Thursday, February 11 from 7 to 9 p.m., also Friday, February 12 from 10 to 11 a.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., at the Beuschel Funeral Home, with Pastor Kama Jongerius as celebrant and under the auspice of the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard.
