Patricia Marie Shassberger, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025, at The Oaks at Belmont, at the age of 85. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Patricia led a life filled with love, faith, and dedication to her family.

Patricia was born on February 24, 1940 in Grand Rapids, MI to Albert and Juanita (Confer) Weersma . She graduated from Creston High School in 1957 and went on to work at Butterworth Hospital as a patient escort.

A woman of strong faith, Patricia was a devoted member of Orchard Hill Church in her earlier years and most recent Calvary Church. She enjoyed singing and was a member of both church choirs. She often handed out The Daily Bread booklet, spreading encouragement and hope. Patricia also had a passion for crochet, often gifting her handmade hangers to friends and family. She shared a love for travel with her late husband, Ronald, with whom she explored Europe and vacationed in Orlando, especially cherishing their visits to Disney World. Patricia enjoyed outings with the Northview Seniors and treasured every moment spent with her beloved family, especially her great-grandchildren.

Patricia is lovingly remembered by her children, Mark (Kathy) Shassberger and Suzanne (Mike) Moralez; her brother, Richard (Beth) Weersma; her cherished grandchildren, Nicole (Jose) Mulero, Taylor (Kelly) Archer, Brandon (Melissa) Kerkstra, and Erik Kerkstra; and her adored great-grandchildren, Landon, Zayden, and Brielle Mulero, Lilly Bumstead, Elliot Archer, and Brady Kerkstra; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Shassberger; daughter-in-law, Linda Shassberger; granddaughter, Amanda Shassberger; and her sister, Betty (Lou) Russ.

Funeral services to honor and celebrate Patricia's life will be held on Thursday, May 15, at 12:00 pm at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Ave NW, Comstock Park, MI. Friends and relatives are invited to meet with the family for a visitation on the same day, one hour prior to the service from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Patricia's memory to the National Kidney Foundation or Corewell Health Hospice.
