FIX - Phyllis Ann (Lafave) Fix, age 70, of Sparta, completed her beautiful journey to heaven to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, ending her long battle with cancer. Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Bob, her three sons, Robert (Ophie), David (Nicole), and James (Joelle) along with five - going on six - granddaughters, Nanda (Reza), Ella, Macy, Sofia, Nora, and baby girl Fix (due December 2018). She leaves behind her two sisters, two brothers and many sisters and brothers-in-law as well as multiple nieces and nephews. Phyllis spent her life caring for others. Besides spending her professional career as a Registered Nurse, she demonstrated a rare kindness to her family, friends and every other person she met. She left a path of kindness wherever she traveled, quietly inspiring others through her endless support and encouragement. Phyllis was notorious for shopping at the Meijer Thrifty Outlet, feeding dogs under the table and sneaking her granddaughters root beer and sugary treats. She was often described as the sweetest person in the world. The family will receive family and friends at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park on Friday, September 28, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Vigil offered at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Father Joe Fix. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at St. Jude's Catholic Church, 1120 Four Mile Rd. NE, Grand Rapids, with Rev. Father Joe Fix and Rev. Father Tom Page officiating. Inurnment will be at Holy Trinity Cemetery. The funeral luncheon will be held at the Beuschel Funeral Home immediately following Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Faith Hospice.
