RILEY - Raymond Riley, age 91, of Sparta, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Janet Ruth (Coffman) Riley; and sister, Evelyn Burkholder. Ray is survived by his loving children, Steve (Cathy) Riley and Mark (Connie) Riley; grandchildren, Denielle Riley (Patrick Dykstra), Michael Riley (Brook Hershiser), Benjamin Riley (Michelle Bickford), April Riley (Chris Elliott), David (Sara) Riley, Mark (Connie) Riley, Casey (Beth) Riley, Caitlin (Jeff) Vandermuelen, Cody (Melanie) Riley; and 13 great-grandchildren. Ray started out his career as a Baptist minister after graduating from Indiana Wesleyan University. He loved music and was an accomplished violinist. Over the years he provided ministry with a focus on the elderly. He then went on to forge a career serving as administrative director of nursing homes for 25 years. Ray provided consulting services at many nursing retirement centers in Florida to help ensure financial sustainability and opened facilities to meet the needs of the community. The family will receive relatives and friends at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park, Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A time of sharing will be at 8:00 p.m. Private interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park.
