Our beloved father and grandfather, Richard Michael Rohloff unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023. He was 83 years old. Richard was born to John and Gertrude Rohloff on February 19,1939 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He graduated from Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School and held his religious beliefs throughout his life. Richard bravely served in the 11th Airborne Division of the US Army as a paratrooper. After which, he faithfully worked over 30-years for the Grand Rapids Fire Department. Richard was known to have a passion for raising exotic birds and working in the yard under a canopy of trees that he carefully designed. Richard is preceded in death by his parents and sister Patricia (Andrew) Foster. He is survived by his loving wife of 62-years, Lois Rohloff. Richard is also survived by his brother David Rohloff, and his three sisters Carol (David) Theile, Marilyn (Donald) Wiersema, and Lorraine (Richard) Dykstra. His five children, Lorrie Graff, William (Tracy) Rohloff, Richard J. (Laurie) Rohloff, Nicholas Rohloff, and Douglas Rohloff. In addition, he is survived by nine grandchildren, Laurel, Lance, Logan, Ashlee, Sammi, and David Rohloff. Brain Graff, Alison Graff, and Monica (Dennis) VandenEnde; and several great grandchildren. A visitation for Richard is planned for Wednesday, February 8, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Beuschel Funeral Home on 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park, Michigan. All are invited to attend. The funeral will follow at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 425 South State Street, Sparta, Michigan. A second visitation at the church will be held at 10:00 am prior to the funeral. Service Details.
