KIBBY - Robert "Bob" L. Kibby, age 78 of Walker, returned to his heavenly home with his family by his side on Wednesday, June 19, 2019. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Mary (Hoedeman); beloved children, Elisabeth Paavo, Scott Kibby, Melissa (Ben) Falan, Heidi (Justin) Morgensen and Bryan (Amanda) Kibby; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; very special friends of the Kibby family, Marvin (Denise) Raap and family. Bob exemplified a life in service to his community, country and to God. He started his service as a "frogman" in the United States Navy and transitioned to servicing in Walker as a Firefighter, advancing to the rank of Lieutenant. Bob owned "Bob's Radiator" in Grand Rapids from 1973 to the present, and served for many years with FEMA; last serving the people of Houston, Texas following Hurricane Harvey in 2017. Through these many careers, the consistent thread was Bob's willingness to help his family, friends, and neighbors, his generous and courteous nature, and the easy hospitality he displayed to all who came into his orbit. He leaves a legacy of service and commitment, an example of kindness and duty, and a large and loving family who will keep him close in their hearts. The family will greet family and friends on Monday, June 24, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park. A celebration of Bob's life will take place at Orchard Hill Reformed Church, 1465 Three Mile Road N.W., Walker, on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service, with Rev. Bob Karel officiating and under the auspices of the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard. A special thank you to the care given to Bob at Faith Hospice.
