Ronald L. Nicewander, age 70, God called him home and he passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, August 26, 2024. He had a very fulfilling life with friends and family. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Arland and Louise, and several other family members. He leaves behind his wife, Ann of 49 years; his children, Jeremy (Tammy) Nicewander, grandchildren, Cole, Kendra, Deegan; Marcy (James) O'Neill, grandchildren, Simon and Fiona; brother, Donald (Sally) Nicewander; many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Ron worked for Shell Drilling Company after graduating from Rockford High School in 1971. He worked on heavy equipment then worked for the Kent County Airport and worked as a cook at Child Haven. Ron did this so he would be available to deliver mail in Belmont, where he grew up. He always had two jobs, which allowed him to buy a house before he got married. He then remodeled the whole house with the help of his family. Later he moved back to Belmont, where he built a house, and later on in life turned around and built a house in Sparta. Ron liked to do a lot of traveling on the back roads of the United States. He especially loved driving through the small towns along the way. He enjoyed riding his tractors to take care of the yard. Ron was a member of the Moose Eagles and the American Legion. Ron loved his family very much and will be greatly missed. Ron's family would like to thank their many friends and family for all the help and support they have given. He is in Heaven with his best buddy, Mike. Friends and relatives may meet the family at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Ave NW, Comstock Park, for a visitation on Saturday, August 31, from 9:00 - 11:00 am. A funeral service will follow the visitation starting at 11:00 am. Interment Blythefield Memory Gardens.
