Mrs. Sandra Kay Wert, age 67, of Comstock Park, MI, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022. She was born on January 4, 1955 in Grand Rapids, MI to John and Virginia June (Benham) Olszanecky. Sandra graduated from Comstock Park High School with the class of 1973. She was a banking secretary, homemaker and an administrative assistant for the band department at Comstock Park High School. She married Robert B. Wert in Grand Rapids, MI at the Faith Lutheran Church on February 23, 1980. Sandra was very active with the CP HS Band Boosters, known affectionately by many classes of students as "Mrs. Wert." Her life centered around her son Jonathan and his musical performances with the band and into adulthood. She was an avid gardener and music lover. She loved to decorate her home for each holiday with ornaments from Hallmark, and always sent greeting cards to friends and family. Sandra will be remembered as a very caring person and encouraged everyone she was around, especially her son, Jonathan. Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Robert B. Wert; son, Jonathan Wert; two sisters, Judy Schilling, Jennie (Bill) VanWagoner; nieces, Katie Lynn Schilling, Ashley (Cadence) Pohly; two brothers- in- law, David Wert, Fred Wert; two sisters-in-law, Deb Bosch, Marcia (Larry) Pogodzinski. Sandra is also survived by her mother-in-law, Elizabeth Wert. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Linda Olszanecky, Janice Olszanecky; father-in-law, Frank Wert. The Memorial Service for Sandra will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Beuschel Funeral Home, with Pastor Dale Kleinheksel officiating. Visitation will be Friday, April 8, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Ave., NW, Comstock Park, MI 49321. There will also be visitation Saturday, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
