Mrs. Sarah Ann Westrick, age 82, of Walker, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. She was born on December 15, 1939 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Lawrence and Elizabeth (Prout) Jessup. She was a graduate of Grand Rapids Creston High School with the Class of 1958. Sarah met Merlin Westrick in Grand Rapids and they were married on September 14, 1968 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church-Alpine. Sarah was a Girl Scout in her younger years and eventually became a Girl Scout Leader. She was a very active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church-Alpine, where she enjoyed being a greeter. Sarah was an active member of the Women's City Club of Grand Rapids. She was employed at Knape and Vogt Company in Grand Rapids for a short time. Sarah was fond of colorful hats and purses. Her bright personality and radiant style brought joy to those around her. Sarah is survived by her husband of 53 years, Merlin Westrick; daughter, Elizabeth Westrick; sister, Jane Calahan; nephew, Peter Calahan; special cousin, Anne Berardo. The Mass of Christian Burial for Sarah will be offered Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 11:00 am from Holy Trinity Catholic Church-Alpine, 1200 Alpine Church Rd., NW, Comstock Park, MI 49321, with Fr. Thomas G. Simons presiding. Interment will be in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, February 7, 2022 from 4-8 pm at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Ave NW, Comstock Park, MI, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 pm. Visitation also will be one hour prior to the Mass at church on Tuesday.
