HAMACHER, SHARON A., age 79, of Grand Rapids (formerly of Portage), sweet, kind and loyal, Sharon slipped away to the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, August 15, 2015 smiling and happy to the end. She endured a lengthy battle with cancer that showed us all how to live and die with grace and dignity. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Sis and Jay Kosten and Vern and Mary Monaghan and her son, Dan; brothers in-law, Jerry, Joe and Don Hamacher, which only served to strengthen her faith in God and love of family. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Roger; children, Kathy (Dave) Cavera and Tom Hamacher; grandchildren, Lisa (Ross Greedy) Gernand and Amy and Chris Gernand; brother, Richard (Janice) Monaghan; in-laws, Dick (Pat) Hamacher, Jim (Sandy) Hamacher, Rosie (Dave) Ruble, Doreen (Don) Norton, Janice Hamacher; many cousins, nieces and nephews, special friend of 76 years, Nelda McMananan. She loved life, her family and "critters", art, literature, "glitzy" things, bright colors, the cottage and making pineapple cake. She was a member of the Spectrum Health Salle Bender Guild and Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, with the Rosary Service at 7:00 PM, with Deacon Tom Cavera, at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue N.W., Comstock Park. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Sharon's life will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 11 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1200 Alpine Church Road, Comstock Park with Rev.
