UPDIKE - Sharon Elaine (Poole) Updike, age 84, of Comstock Park, was called home to Jesus, her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Thelma Poole, of Saranac, Michigan; sister, Marjorie Cahoon of Belding, Michigan; and brother-in-law, Richard Christiansen of Ionia. Sharon is survived by her husband, Thomas; children, Michael (Darlene) Updike of Orlando, Florida, and Lynn (Brian) Karsten of Zeeland, Michigan; four grandchildren; sister, Virginia (Richard) Christiansen of Ionia; several nieces and nephews. Sharon was born in December 1936 in Saranac, Michigan. She graduated from Saranac High School before marrying her husband of more than 65 years, Thomas Updike. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Celebration of Sharon's life will be at Trinity Congregation Church, 2725 4 Mile Road N.W., Grand Rapids on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, with Pastor Izzy Young officiating.
