Stephen John Kelbel, at 86, almost 87 years of age departed this life on Friday, December 20, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Vivian; twin infant brothers; sisters, Mary Ann (Dick) Twohey, Kathryn Kelbel. Steve is survived by his wife, Shelby; sons, Stephen III (Cheryl), Paul (Ann); daughter, Michelle (Doug); grandchildren, Natasha (Charles) Fernandez and Grant Kelbel; great grandchildren, Isabel, Sofia and Isaac Fernandez; brothers, James (Patty) and Michael Kelbel; sister, Vivian "Toots" (Fred) Smith. Steve never lost his love for The North Country, especially Petoskey (which he called it God's Country), faith, family, friends, travel, The Kentucky Derby, football, golf and fishing. But most of all, he loved conversing with anyone willing to listen!  A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 28, 2025 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1200 Alpine Church Rd NW, Comstock Park, MI with Fr. Chris Rouech celebrant. A visitation will be held in the Narthex of church starting at 10:00 am prior to the mass. Those who wish to make a donation in his memory, kindly consider the American Heart Association, or American Cancer Society.
