Widmaier, Thomas "Tom" F. age 53, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 11, 2024. Tom was born on August 13, 1971 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Margaret and Ernie Widmaier. Tom was a much-loved son, brother, uncle, and friend who would do anything to help. A graduate of Comstock Park High School Class of 1989, Tom attended Grand Rapids Community College where he studied music extensively. Tom was both an instrumental and vocal musician, singing in G.R.C.C.'s vocal jazz group Shades of Blue, where he made many lifelong friends. As a dedicated, accomplished classical and bass guitarist, he would spend hours at a time practicing to perfection. Tom had an appreciation for a broad array of musical genres and an expert's understanding of musical excellence, a trait he shared with his father. A lover of good food and cooking, Tom often experimented with new flavors and spices, preparing delicious meals for his family. Tom was a lifelong athlete and fitness enthusiast, beginning in childhood with baseball and football, and continuing into adulthood with a wide variety of fitness activities and interests. His own athletic inclinations translated into great sports enthusiasm as an ardent fan of the Detroit Lions, Tigers, and Redwings, creating a special bond he shared with his mother. Tom was a vibrant force in the lives of all who knew him, with an enormous sense of humor, but his most important and lasting legacy is his service as a friend. He is survived by his mother Margaret, brother Bill (Linda), nieces Evelyn and Eleanor, numerous aunts and cousins, and many close friends. Tom was preceded in death by his father Ernie.

A gathering of friends and family will take place on Tuesday, November 26 at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Ave, Comstock Park, MI from 11:00 - 12:00 pm, services starting at 12:00 pm with a luncheon to follow.
