DEJONG - Viola (Boone) DeJong, age 86 (04/21/1934 - 06/25/2020) of Comstock Park. Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Hedzer DeJong; her parents, Jacob and Rena Boone. Viola leaves behind her children, Barbara (Bernard) Huitema, Thomas (Sue) DeJong, James DeJong, Robert (Marilyn) DeJong, Janice VanderWal, Valerie (Jeff) Bosch, and Mary (Sander) Niemeyer, 33 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren; one sister and a brother, also many special friends. Vi enjoyed laughing, talking, and telling stories with her large family. She had many friends and loved leading Bible studies, even in the assisted living facility where she resided. Vi was a faithful and loving wife to Hedzer for nearly 67 years. A Memorial Service for Viola will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Brewer Park, 399 84th Street S.E.
