DUSENDANG - Walter J. Dusendang, age 68, of Rockford, will always be in our hearts, but went to be forever with the angels on Tuesday, January 19, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mary; daughter, Lisa Dusendang; mother-in-law, Addie Wilde and sister-in-law, Debbie Mull. Walt is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Delores; children, Justin Closs and Joel Closs; grandchildren, Chandler and Gavin Closs; in-laws, Ivan Wilde, Carol Bentley, Diane Scofield; his dearest friend, Tim Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. He served his country in the National Guard. Walt started his career of 29 years driving truck for Crown Beauty Supply and later became the top salesman. He was a self made man, opening his own beauty supply of 20 plus years in Rockford, Michigan known as Salon Essentials Beauty Supply Company. Delores and Walt recently purchased a home in Las Vegas, Nevada with future plans to expand Salon Essentials Beauty Supply Company. Walt was loved by his family, employees and his many connections with the salons. He had a special gift to build things out of his hands and he will be dearly missed by many. The family will receive family and friends at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park on Friday, January 22, 2016 from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M., and 7:00 - 9:00 P.M., with a Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M., with Msgr. Terrence L. Stewart. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 11:00 A.M., with visitation one hour prior, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 425 South State Street, with Msgr. Terrence Stewart officiating, and under the auspice of the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard., with the luncheon following at the Beuschel Funeral Home. Interment will be held in the Walkerville Cemetery. In memory of Walt, please consider memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard.
