Willard J. Smith, age 93, of Hudsonville formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, September 8, 2024. Willard was born on July 3, 1931 to Ray and Odelia Smith. Willard is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Carole Smith; children, Cindy and Dick Klompstra, Cathy and Steve Chappell, Jeffrey and Melissa Smith, Gregory and Barb Smith; 10 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Willard was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Odelia Smith and 8 siblings. Willard was a retiree of Steelcase Corporation who volunteered many years on projects for Steelcase Care Volunteer Center. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 11 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 520 Myrtle St. NW Grand Rapids, MI at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to Mass starting at 10:00 am.
