William Scott Kamp, age 74, of Comstock Park, was called home to be with his Lord on Wednesday April 26, 2023. He courageously fought his battle against cancer with a determined smile always on his face. He was ushered into heaven by many loved ones and is completely healed in both body and soul. He was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. Bill proudly served his country in the US Army and fought courageously in the Vietnam War. Bill was fiercely patriotic and dedicated many hours and much passion to his American Legion and VFW, sharing a special bond with his legion brothers and sisters. Bill retired at age 62 after 28 years of hard work and faithful service with State Farm. Bill's smile was a genuine display of the joy he found in life and in his family and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Connie Kamp and his father-in-law, Jim Van Portfliet. He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 38 years, Sue; sisters and brothers, Peg and Roger Markle, Bonnie and Tony Pienta, Ellen Sanchez, Mark and Denise Kamp, Brian and Anne Kamp; his mother-in-law, Pat Van Portfliet; his sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barb and Kevin Jansen, Eric and Susan Van Portfliet, Dave and Jolene Van Portfliet. Bill will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews whom he deeply loved, each in his own special way and countless dear and precious friends. Mass of the Christian burial will be offered on Thursday, May 4 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Alpine Township. Inurnment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Friends and relatives may meet the family at Beuschel Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where a rosary will be prayed starting at 8:30 pm. Bill will lie in state one hour prior to mass at the church. Those who wish may make memorial donations to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Emmanuel Hospice, or Talons Out Honor Flight. Service Details.
