Chiko was born in 1936 in Akashi, Japan home of her mother's family. She was the oldest of four children and only daughter of Kazumoto and Tae (Onodera) Suematsu. Chiko was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, Scott Anderson; brothers, Shinya Suematsu and Hideyuki Suematsu and her former husband, Laurence Norton. She is survived by her children, Anna (Kevin) Parker, Patty Anderson and Tina (Michael) Warznie; grandchildren, Christopher (Rebecca) Parker, Joseph Parker, Kendra Parker, Zach Anderson, Kyle Anderson, Stephanie Anderson, Jennifer Warznie, Lauren Warznie and Julia Warznie; great grandchildren, Natalie Parker and Jayden Parker; brother, Itsuo (Tomoko) Suematsu of Japan; sister-in-law, Katsuko Suematsu of Japan; several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Chiko immigrated to the U.S. in the early 60's. She became a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Sparta at that time. Education was always important to her. Chiko earned a high school diploma through Sparta High School, though she graduated from high school and attended junior college in Japan. She achieved U.S. Citizenship in 1986 and took voting privileges seriously. Chiko loved family gatherings, rides that included lunch, and enjoyed many summer weekends at the Parker family cottage on Maston Lake. Our deepest thanks to Faith Hospice Trillium Woods, Sanctuary at St. Mary's, her medical team (Drs. Yavich, Kryshak, Decker, Buchanan and their P.A.'s and nurses) and Spectrum Hospital.
